EV Charging Station Rebates, Incentives & Discounts Now Available for Massachusetts Residents

Massachusett’s electric vehicle (EV) charging station owners are eligible to apply for a variety of EV charging station rebates, incentives and discounts from the US Department of Energy. These incentives have been put in place to make it easier for people to switch to electric vehicles, thereby reducing emissions and helping the environment.

Let’s take a look at exactly what kind of rebates and incentives you can get.

Federal Tax Credit:

The US Federal Government offers a tax credit for owners of EV charging stations that ranges from $500-$3,000 depending on the type and power level of the charging station being installed. This credit applies to both residential and commercial properties.

State Rebates:

Many states provide rebates for EV charging station installations as well. In Massachusetts, there is a rebate program offered by the Department of Energy Resources (DOER) that provides up to $2,000 per charger with a maximum refundable amount of up to $10,000 per property.

The DOER also offers Municipal Electric Company Rebate Programs which offer additional rebates or credits on top of those provided by the federal government and state governments. These programs typically require applicants to demonstrate how they will use their EV charger in order to be eligible for certain incentives or discounts. For example, in some cases businesses may be required to install more than one charger in order to qualify for certain discounts or rebates. Additionally, some municipalities may also provide funding for installation costs associated with these chargers as part of their energy efficiency initiatives.

Electric Utility Provider Discounts:

Some local electric utility companies may offer discounted rates on electricity used by EV chargers or other related services such as maintenance or repair work done on existing EV chargers. This type of discount is typically only available if your local utility company has an agreement with either the manufacturer or installer of your EV chargers or if you purchase your charger through an approved vendor that is recognized by your local utility provider. It’s important to check with your local utility company prior to making any decisions about purchasing an EV charger in order to find out if such discounts are available in your area.

There are now many different types of incentive programs available specifically designed for Massachusetts residents who own an electric vehicle (EV) charging station. These incentives range from federal tax credits all the way up through municipal-level rebate programs that provide additional discounts when purchasing new equipment or services related to EVs. By taking advantage of these various incentive programs you can save money while doing something good for the environment at the same time!
